Our Updates

Hello everyone!

This is our second last week (next week is our last) working until after Christmas and we've realised how busy our year's actually been when we looked back on it.

We're all depressed since Caryn's no longer here, but we're carrying on as best as we can without her (even if we're all sad). Everyone's been having a really good day, but are enjoying their afternoon skieve more than working all morning. (We all love nothing more than Christmas, where we get spoiled rotten with presents and yummy Christmas food).

There's nothing more to report, but we'll put any updates on once we get a spare moment.

Our Updates

Hello everyone!

Today is a sad day for all of us. It is Caryn's last day today but she isn't in, so we're all very depressed about it. (Wah! Sob!... you get the idea.)

We're busy again today (and hyper for Christmas coming!) and have to do plenty of typing. Aimee's excited for the weekend as her wee niece is getting christened, Tanya's in a good mood because Aberdeen won at the football against Rangers (a double good day for Tan-Tan), Sarah's in her usual sociable mood, Pam's excited because it's her little sister's birthday, Gordon's running late and Lori's hyper (as usual). Chris and Pauline are in charge today.

We're secretly chuffed that we don't have to do any crosswords (trust us, there's plenty of them when we're doing that), articles for the newspaper or anything like that. Don't tell our volunteers but we have to make several books today just to make their day better than before.

That's it for now, folks. Will write more later xxx

Newsflashes

Hello everyone!

We have lots of news today. We have a Homecoming Scotland finale tomorrow, which everyone's looking forward to, and we're all excited about Christmas.

We put this photo up for a laugh. Kate says she's cleaning up (yeah right, we all say). We'll let her get revenge on us for this, although we were thinking about putting a nice photo up too.

We also have some sad news. Caryn, one of our team members, is moving away to Lossiemouth with her family and we're all depressed about it. Also Maureen, one of our first memnbers and a fellow client, passed away recently and her funeral was last Friday.

We are also distributing the freshly printed newsletter later on.
We also put this photo up to say sorry to Kate for putting up the above embarrassing photo up on the page. It's her very beautiful dogs (that has to be one of the cutest photographs ever). Even the hardest hearts would melt upon seeing this.
We don't have much else in the terms of news, but if there's anymore, we'll let you know folks. xxx

What We Are Up to this Week

Hello!

It's us again. We have lots to do today including our newsletter that we give out to the other clients around the centre, typing practice, training and other things. We have had success with our recipe books; we have some people interested already.

The full group's here today and we're all really busy. Everyone's a bit fed up with the rain and we're hoping that it'll go away. (We're mentally praying it'll improve, for we all got sent home the last time we had really bad rain).

That's all for the moment. Will talk more later. xxx

Our Recent Updates

Howdy y'all!

We're just doing our morning chores. Some of us have done Spot the Difference for our newsletter, some have been doing up our interview with the local dancing champion and others have been doing some tidying up. Not bad for one morning, eh?

It was very quiet last week as nearly all of us were off. One of our very lucky colleagues went on holiday in the sun and we are about to have a case of 'file rage' from the leader. Uh oh! We're in trouble! EEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!

That's all folks. Goodbye, y'all! xxx

Hello, it's us again!

We're doing our recipe books and we're swearing, crying and cursing over them. Kate the leader, Linda, Louise and Cameron the volunteers are nearly in tears just doing it. Our names have been chopped off and Kate's just said this is perfect advertising for volunteering at Community News. I agree...

We're definately needing a cup of tea as well as an afternoon off. Our poor volunteers need a holiday as well as a relaxing jacuzzi bath just like the comparethemeerkat.com meerkat. Simples!

Goodbye for the moment. xxx

Our Updates

Hello again, friends!

We have just found out that we are going home an hour early today because of the rain (it's been on and on and on all day). Cameron is still with us and we're chuffed he'll be with us for a while, although we're not so happy he's to go back to school (BOO! HISS!)

We have our new characters; their names are Chatty Matty and Heather the Blether. Matty is a dog and Heather is a cat. We also interviewed a young Highland Dancer, Iona Black.

There isn't much else to report due to the bad weather (we're sick of the rain already and we badly want rid of it).

Goodbye for now. xxx

Here is the long awaited photo of our beautiful and professional looking books that we make. Our Scottish Recipe Books are selling like hot cakes.
We have a new volunteer with us named Cameron and we've all been fighting for his attention (not really, it's just a picture we want to put into your heads). We all like him. If you saw him, you'll know what we mean.
Did you spot the deliberate blooper? Tartan wasn't invented 13 to 14 years ago, as you might have known. The '00' seems to have vanished in the printing... maybe the news goblin ate the '0's for breakfast...
If you have any local stories or yummy Scottish recipes or Scottish words, please send them to us and we'll put them into our next volumes.
Until then, sayonora. xxx

Hiya again!

Although we're all doing work, we also forgot to mention that we sell books to the public.

There is a Scottish words book, where we translate what the local dialect means, a recipe book with all our favourite recipes in it and we're currently doing Scottish recipe books as part of the Homecoming Scotland 2009 celebrations. They're for sale if you're interested in purchasing them.

Thank you.

What We're All Doing Right Now

We're having another busy week together at Community News. Some of us are doing the recipe books, while others are doing our local newsletter and an article for the newspaper. As you can imagine, we're having a lot of fun doing it (yeah right, I'm sure). It's all in a day's work for us.

We do enjoy our work really. So far, there have been no computer and printer rage incidents to report (phew for the rest of us) but plenty of brainstorming (surprising, there hasn't been a thunder and lightning storm yet) and work going on.
Will try and get photos of the team up and will write more asap. xxx

Our updates

Hello peeps!

We're currently working on our recipe book and are getting very frustrated with it: we can't seem to get the page layout right and everyone's either laughing, grumbling under their breath or cheering for joy.

As I type this, we've just got it spot on. YIPPEE!!! We're all very happy now and will be having lunch shortly. Whenever we're having lunch, it's like feeding time at the local zoo: that's how much we value and enjoy our meals.

More later.

Blog Entry No 0003

Hello everyone!

Here we are again with our weekly updates. Our business premises celebrated its 10th birthday last Friday and we've been working very hard with our article about it. We've even arranged 2 interviews with some of the other tenents, and we might even have a third if we have our way...

We're all very busy today and have been since 10am this morning: have one of our articles typed up already.

That's all for now folks! We'll keep you posted on any more updates when they come.
